The Cost of the Death Star

Of course, this isn’t very realistic — we don’t have access to enough iron or steel to make such a massive object! The real price would be closer to 35 septillion (3.5×10^28) dollars — that’s 350 zeros after the decimal point — because our current technology can only produce materials at a small fraction of what they’re worth in raw materials.
