1. Mark the location of the post hole at the edge of your raised bed using a post hole digger.

2. Dig out the hole with your shovel and post hole digger. Make sure the hole is deep enough so that you can get the T-post in easily without hitting rocks or roots that will make it difficult to drive in. For example, if you are using 6×6 posts, make your holes about 18″ deep (measure from ground level).

3. Set the post in place and make sure it is straight and level before hammering it down into place by pounding on one end until it goes all the way through the soil into solid ground beneath it.
