By the time you’re done, you’ll have an amazing portal that will make other people jealous. But wait…someone will try to steal your work – even if they don’t need your help!

How to build a portal to the nether

In this tutorial, you will learn how to build a portal to the Nether in Minecraft. The only thing you need is 10 obsidian blocks and one diamond block. There are two ways of making this portal: by digging out a room in your house or by making it in the open world.

How to Make a Nether Portal in Creative Mode

To make a nether portal in Creative mode, follow these steps:

1. Place two obsidian blocks on top of each other.

2. Place another obsidian block on top of the first two blocks (it should be 3 blocks high). Don’t forget to place another obsidian block on top of that one!

3. Now place a diamond block on top of all three obsidian blocks and voilà – your very first nether portal!

The nether portal is an item added in Minecraft 1.9 that allows you to travel between the overworld and the nether, or vice versa. The portal can be activated by placing it on the ground and then right-clicking it. It will disappear after being used but will leave behind a portal frame which can be used again to create another portal.

1. Place down 10 obsidian blocks in a T shape with 3 blocks facing up at the top of the T shape.

2. Place down 4 blocks of cobblestone around this structure (make sure they are on top of the obsidian). You should now have a small box with 8 obsidian blocks and 4 cobblestone blocks inside it (see picture below).

3. Use flint and steel in the middle of this box (where all 4 cobblestone blocks meet) and light it on fire!

First of all, you need to find a place where you will build your portal. It must be in the Nether, so you will have to dig through the bedrock layer.

Next, you need two obsidian blocks and 4 diamonds. You can use any kind of pickaxe for this purpose. The obsidian blocks should be placed vertically on top of each other, while the diamonds should be placed horizontally between them. This is how your portal should look like:
