How to Use a Silo
Players can store hay in the silo once it is constructed. There are several ways to obtain hay:
The player has a 50% chance of collecting hay by using a scythe to chop the grass on their land. Without a silo, players are unable to harvest hay in this manner.
There is a 40% likelihood that cutting wheat will produce hay. Instead of gathering in the silo, this hay will be in the player’s inventory.
At her property, Marnie sells hay at 50g each.
The player will receive one omni geode in return for three hay from the desert trader.
Marnie might mail the player thirty hays.
The player will immediately place whatever hay they gather with a scythe into the silo. Players can also right-click on the silo while holding the hay to add it to the stash if they buy or receive hay as a gift. 240 hay can be stored in each silo.
Just click on the Hay Hopper in a barn or coop to get hay from the silo. After that, players can put this hay in a feeding trough for their pets. As an alternative, players can use the hopper to remove all of the hay from the silo and store it in a chest if they need to make space in the silo because they have grass to cut.
Note that an auto-feed system will be included if the player buys a Deluxe Barn or Deluxe Coop. The feed trough will now fill automatically, eliminating the need for the player to manually fill it each day. Additionally, players are no longer able to manually remove hay from the silos in order to store it somewhere else. It’s usually beneficial to have many silos if the player has multiple animals on their farm and auto feeders so they don’t run out of hay every few days.
