Replace closet doors with curtains

Closets are small and difficult to organize. This means it can be hard to find what you are looking for among the racks and the closet doors. You might have found yourself asking: “Where is that shirt I was looking for? It was here the last time I wore it, but I can’t find it now.” Or maybe you have already thrown out old clothes instead of being able to find them in your crowded closet?

Closet doors can be a lot of things, but exciting isn’t one of them. And let’s face it, they’re probably hiding something (you should actually clean your closet sometime). You’d think that with the break-neck pace of modern life we’d learn to do all that we can to optimize our time and gain greater efficiencies in our daily lives. We all have busy schedules, but who said you shouldn’t turn an inconvenience into something fun.. and DIY? Whether you do it alone or enlist a friend over, replacing doors with curtains is a super easy project that will pay big dividends in the long run.

Replace closet doors with curtains

To replace your closet doors with curtains, you’ll need a few tools and supplies. The best way to get started is to gather up the necessary materials beforehand.

The first thing you’ll need is a pair of curtain rods. You can buy these at any hardware store or online. Measure the width of your closet doors and pick out two rods that are just slightly wider than your door frame. You’ll also need curtain rings that match the size of your rods — usually 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch diameter.

Next, measure how high you want your curtains to hang inside each door frame and mark those measurements on both sides of each rod with pencil marks. If you want them to be flush against the top of the door frame, make sure that mark is at least 1 inch higher than the top edge of your door frame so it doesn’t show when it’s closed. Use painter’s tape or a pencil eraser to mark off these areas so they don’t get painted over later (you don’t want black marks all over your new white doors).

Curtain instead of door

If you have a closet that is not too large, you might want to consider replacing the door with curtains. This will allow you to see what is inside the closet without having to open the door and let in unwanted light or air. Some people do not like their closets to be seen and this is a much more discreet way of keeping your clothes private.

Ikea has many different styles of curtain rods that can be used to replace closet doors. Some are simple open-ended rods that are placed into the wall, others have plastic inserts that can be installed into any wall studs on either side of the center point where you want your rod to go through and another type has an insert at one end but an open end at the other end which allows for flexibility when installing it into your existing walls.

Closet curtains are not tacky at all! They are made from many different materials including silk, velvet, lace and satin just like regular drapes would be made from. The only difference is that they must be made so that they fit over a regular size clothes hanger rather than hanging straight down like regular drapes do

Are closet curtains tacky

No, not at all. In fact, closet curtain panels are a great way to give your space a fresh look and make it feel more like an actual room. If you have a walk-in closet, these curtains can help it feel more like its own room. They also let you control the light and temperature of your closet so you don’t have to worry about coming out of your closet in the morning and being blinded by sunlight or freezing because your heater is blowing hot air directly at the clothes.

How do I hang curtains on my closet doors?

If you’re using traditional rod-mounted curtain panels in your home, hanging them on your closet doors is easy. Most of these styles are held up by tension rods that fit over top of existing panel tracks on your door frame — all you have to do is slide them into place and secure them with plastic fasteners or clips (see below). If you’re using other types of panels that don’t fit over existing tracks, like pinch pleat curtains.

If you have a closet door that doesn’t open, or is stuck in the open position, you can replace it with a curtain. This will give you more privacy, and also make your closet look more stylish.

Here’s how to install curtain panels on a closet door:

Step 1: Measure the width of your door. To do this, measure from the top left corner to the bottom right corner, then subtract 2 inches (5 cm). This will give you an idea of how much fabric you need to buy. You don’t want the curtains to be too long; otherwise they’ll drag on the floor when they’re opened.

Step 2: Make sure there are no obstructions where your new curtain panels will be installed — for example, if there’s a light fixture above the door or something else that will get in their way when they’re opened or closed. You can always move these items if necessary, but better safe than sorry!

Step 3: To install curtain rods above your new panels, measure from ceiling to floor and add 4 inches (10 cm) to each measurement — this is how high up from the top of your doorframe you’ll want them installed at each end of your new panel

If you have an open closet and no doorknobs, you can easily install a curtain to cover the opening. The curtains will add privacy and help hide messy piles of clothes.

Curtain Rods

You can use any type of curtain rod for your closet doors. If you already have one, simply hang it on both sides of the door opening. If not, go buy one at a home improvement store or department store. They come in different lengths and styles and are relatively inexpensive.

Use heavy-duty curtain rings that fit around the curtain rod to hold your curtains closed. Place them about six inches from each end of the rod so they won’t slip off when someone opens or closes the door. If possible, hang them as high as possible so they will stay in place even if someone bumps into them accidentally or pulls on them purposefully.

How to Hang Curtains for Closet Doors

The most common way to hang curtains for closet doors is with a rod. These rods can be anything from a simple wooden dowel to an elaborate, decorative one. A dowel rod will work just fine for your needs and is quite inexpensive. You can also buy a pre-made curtain rod that will attach directly to the top of your door frame (you may need to drill holes into it). If you’re really looking for a professional look though, you can buy a custom-made curtain track that fits perfectly on top of your closet doors.

How to Hang Curtains for Closet Doors on a Budget

If you don’t want to spend too much money making your closet look nice, there are some other options available as well. For example, instead of buying an entire set of curtains, you could simply buy some fabric and drape it over your existing closet doors. This could be done by using tension rods or even just by using clips or magnets if you don’t want them falling down all the time. You could also use this method if you wanted to try out different designs before deciding what kind of curtains would fit best in each room.

Closet curtains are an excellent way to add some personality and style to your closet without spending a lot of money. You can easily install them yourself with just a few tools, or if you don’t want to sew them yourself, you can order pre-made curtains that are ready to hang.

Here are the steps for installing closet curtains:

Measure the length and width of your closet doors and cut fabric accordingly. For example, if your door is 30 inches wide by 84 inches tall, you’ll need fabric that’s at least 84 inches wide and 30 inches tall (or as close as possible). There’s no need to add extra fabric because it will cover the top of your door frame when installed.

Decide how high up on the door frame you want your curtain rod bracket to be mounted. Typically this is about 6 inches above the top of the door frame, but this may vary depending on the size of your space and whether or not there’s furniture in front of it that blocks some of your view from inside the closet. Curtain Instead of Door

If you have a small closet, consider hanging curtains instead of a door. This will help you save space and can be easily done. You will need two panels of fabric, curtain rods and rings, pins and a hammer.

Hang Curtains in Your Closet

1. Measure the width and height of your closet before buying curtains. The length should be at least three times longer than the width. If your closet is very small with low ceilings, then choose short curtains that will hang just below the ceiling or use sheer curtains with no pleats or folds in them.

2. Hang one curtain rod on each side of the closet at equal heights so that they meet in the middle over top of the clothes rod or shelf. Use strong hooks or screws to attach them securely into place around the front edge of each panel (if needed).

3. Cut off any excess fabric at bottom edge if necessary so that it hangs straight down from top edge all around entire panel including sides and back as well so that it all looks neat and uniformed together when folded over nicely like an open door would do when

I’m trying to find something that is simple and not too expensive. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on this because it’s just for my bedroom.

I would like the curtains to be able to close so that when they are open they don’t stick out into the room as much as they do now.
